The Hemus Motorway section from Yablanitsa to Boaza has been fitted with safety barriers by KMV.

Restraint systems manufactured by KMV Road Safety Systems Ltd. have been installed on the newly opened 9.3-kilometer section of the Hemus Motorway.

In the newly opened section, 17,800 meters of double-wave steel guardrails (H1 and N2 systems) have been installed, along with 8,000 meters of double-sided H2W4 3N barriers and 2,800 meters of single-sided H2W4 3N barriers. To ensure the safety of travelers, an H4bW4 system—unique within the country—has been installed, spanning a total length of 460 meters. The start of this high-containment barrier system is secured with energy-absorbing crash terminals. The bridge structure at the beginning of the section is protected by a 100-meter triple-wave H2W4 system, supplemented by a safety mesh. To facilitate rapid traffic diversion between lanes in the event of an accident, four removable barrier sections with a total length of 176 meters have been installed. These removable systems are of the H2W4 type, for which “KMV-Road Safety Systems” Ltd. holds the exclusive manufacturing certificate.
